Winnie's South African Chakalaka

Ingredients

  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Spring onion
  • Carrot
  • Peppers (red & yellow)
  • Kidney beans x2
  • Haricot beans x2
  • Sweet Chilli sauce
  • Bayleaf
  • Fresh chili (to taste)
  • Curry Powder, 1tsp
  • Olive Oil
  • White Cabbage
  • Courgette
  • Aromat
  • Paprika, 1tsp
  • Cucumber
  • Green Beans
  • Cabbage

Method

1.Finely chop onion, add garlic, ginger, spices, frying on a medium heat until soft. 
2. Dice pepper and courgette, grate carrot and cabbage and add to pan
3. Boil cucumber and beans together to soften, keeping the green colour, then add to the pan. 
4. Finally add both kidney and haricot to the pan.
5. Cook for 10 minutes until all everything is hot and blended together. 
6. Serve in bowls as a main or as side dish.
